Programs & Services

Uplift Treatment Center (UTC) offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), a comprehensive and evidence-based program structured in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 245G. Our core services include individual counseling, group therapy, family sessions, and aftercare planning. In addition to these core services, we provide lodging as an essential component of care, meaning that while clients receive outpatient therapy, we also provide supportive, substance-free housing to ensure the stability needed to fully focus on recovery and long-term sobriety.

While our doors are open to all people seeking recovery, UTC is dedicated to offering culturally responsive care, meaning we tailor our services to respect and align with each client’s unique background and values. We possess specialized expertise and training in serving individuals from East, West, and Middle Eastern cultures. Our team understands the nuances of diverse cultural contexts, which allows us to provide truly personalized and effective support to every individual, regardless of their background.

Comprehensive Assessments

This is the foundational step in the care we provide at UTC. It involves a required face-to-face meeting with a qualified professional to gather in-depth information about the client’s substance use, health, personal history, and strengths. This crucial evaluation is done to identify the client’s specific needs and challenges, which then allows UTC to create an effective and highly personalized treatment plan.

Individual/Group Counseling

Provided by qualified counselors, these core services offer two formats. Individual counseling is one-on-one, helping our clients explore root causes, set recovery goals, and develop coping skills. Group counseling is a professionally led, interactive setting where clients connect with peers for support, shared experience, and practicing communication skills toward a sober, healthier lifestyle.

Treatment Coordination

Treatment coordination at UTC acts as the central hub for managing all aspects o four client’s care. Provided by a Treatment Coordinator, this service helps us connect all the dots, ensuring a holistic approach to their recovery. This includes facilitating referrals for essential medical and mental health services, coordinating the client’s treatment plan with family or significant others, and linking them to necessary external resources like social services.

Peer Recovery Support

This is a powerful, non-clinical service delivered one-to-one by a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist—an individual with lived experience in recovery who works with UTC. This support provides the client with mentorship, education, and advocacy from someone who truly understands their journey. Peers can help clients access vital community resources, such as housing and employment, attend recovery meetings, and build a strong, positive support network.

Health Education

These sessions at UTC are designed to empower our clients with knowledge about health, wellness, and risk reduction. Clients receive critical, factual information on making healthy lifestyle changes and addressing health risks associated with substance use. Key topics covered include infectious diseases (such as HIV and Hepatitis), the effects of drug or alcohol use during pregnancy, and general wellness to help them quickly regain and maintain their physical health.

Psychoeducation

While integrated into their overall treatment, psychoeducation at UTC focuses on providing our clients with the knowledge to understand their condition better. It includes educational content and groups centered on substance use disorders, symptoms of mental illness, and the complexities of co-occurring disorders (SUD and mental health disorders). This knowledge is key to managing symptoms, understanding the treatment plan, and ensuring compliance with any necessary medication.

Driving with Care

This is a recognized, evidence-based cognitive-behavioral curriculum often required for clients with DWI/DUI offenses. UTC utilizes this specialized program to help the client understand the flawed thinking patterns that contribute to impaired driving. Through various levels of education or therapy, it helps them develop better decision-making skills, set responsible goals for substance use, and significantly reduce their risk of future impaired-driving incidents.

Client Lodging

For clients enrolled in our Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), Uplift Treatment Center (UTC) provides supportive, substance-free housing as an essential component of care. While IOP services focus on individual counseling, group therapy, family sessions, and aftercare planning, the provision of lodging ensures the stability a client needs to fully focus on recovery and long-term sobriety. Please note that a nominal fee is charged for this housing component.
